Are you overdue for a quick getaway? Here is a 4 day itinerary that would surely recharge anyone’s batteries:
Escape the continental cold and experience the warmer climate of the Dalmatian coast. On average, the temperature in Zadar will vary from a low of 12 degree’s to a high of 16-20 degree’s. With over 13 hours of daylight, and on average 10 hours of sunshine per day. It’s certainly a great getaway from the cold of the northern winters.
For those aficiado’s of pasta we would recommend the Bruschetta restaurant, Try their ‘Fuži pasta with beef’ or homemade ravioli with prosciutto, rocket and cream. Or try their fish dishes, you cannot go wrong. (http://www.bruschetta.hr/en/menu/)
If you’re more for meat dishes we would recommend Harbor Cook House. Be it one of their burgers, pork ribs or dry age beef steaks – it will surely fill any appetite. (https://harbor.hr/menu/)

Both restaurants are located in or around the old town. Take a walk before or after your dinner, enjoy in the sounds of the Zadar Sea Organs whilst the colorful ‘Monument to the Sun’ works its magic in the background.

With less than a 45 minute drive from O’live Residence you’ll find Krka National park, the home of the famous Krka Waterfalls
Explore the serene and impressive Krka national park. Surrounded by thriving flora and fauna, you’ll find yourself weaving through many tracks within the park. Passing many smaller waterfalls, to eventually arriving at the centre peace of the park, Skrandinski Buk. In a instance you’ll find your Zen!
For those who wish to add a little more adventure to their day, not far from Skradinski Buk you can catch a ferry that takes you North to the Visovac Monastery, located on an island in a lake. The Monastery itself is a 15th-century Franciscan monastery and Church. It offers the perfect tranquility, where one can look at the valuable library of books and manuscripts. or just indulge in the architecture and surroundings. The collection also features a small selection of seventeenth-century paintings.
On your way back, for dinner stop over in Skradin. We reccommend Cantinetta (https://cantinetta.hr/). Try their Octupus Salad, Scallops, Saltimbocca or pasta. You won’t be disappointed. However if you’d like dinner closer to O’live Residence then we’d go for Matanovi Dvori. Less than a 10 min drive from O’live Residence. It’s time to take a tour off the beaten track! Less than 40 mins away from O’live Residence, you’ll find the Velebit Mountain range. Where the Mediterranean meets continental Europe. It’s a unique mountain range that has a lot of secrets to reveal.
Take a full day guided safari tour through the Velebit Mountain, and you’ll have memories to last you a life time. Find out what flora and fauna can be found in this unique micro climate. Enjoy the breath taking views overlooking the Adriatic sea. And enjoy a typical Croatia bbq on the highest points in Zadar.

Your Getaway this Easter should be topped off with a visit the old town of Zadar. A perfect time to take a guided walking tour of Zadar, to unlock all of its secrets. From the sarcophagus of St Simeon, to the Museum of Ancient Glass.
During the course of the early afternoon make the walk up the 180 stairs of the St Stošija bell tower, Visit the 5 wells or find the nearest café and sit and watch the world go by.
